When I tell people I am an artist, they often are curious about what I do or create. Typically it goes something like this…I see an image in my mind and I draw it. It goes through many changes as when I am drawing, my mind is still creating. At this point I decide if I will paint it, stitch it, or maybe work it into a collage. Where these images come from is so hard to explain, but when you have a creative mind it is seems quite natural and normal. Songs, smells and memories all trigger images for me. Usually, I jot it down so I wont forget and can come back to it when time allows.

I love to create and try new techniques with art. I hope to share my love of art and the creative process with others who might be a little timid or afraid to let go and just create!

I love to embroider. It is fun, colorful, relaxing and I have done it since I was a little girl. Many of us grew up learning to embroider, crochet, knit and sew at our mothers knee. If you were not introduced to the fiber arts at home, you most likely had a home economics class that introduced you to them.

One of the reasons I love embroidery is the freedom to put it down at a moments notice and pick it right back up and start right where you left off. I find it relaxing and good for the soul to create with my hands and I hope you do too.
